Step 15: Follow the initial lines and shapes to finish the panda's body. Draw the tail on the left side too.
Step 16 (optional): For a cleaner look, erase as much of you can of the initial guide lines. Don't worry about erasing all the guides. It's okay to leave some behind. Re-draw any final sketch lines you may have accidentally erased.
Final Step (optional): Now draw the panda's black patches. Draw two shapes surrounding the eyes, then shade them in. Shade in the panda's ears and make the nose darker too. The black patches extend from its back to the shoulders and all the way down to the feet. Shade in that entire section. Shade in the leg on the other side as well. The panda's hind legs are also dark, so shade those in too. Remember to pause the video or use reference if you need more help with the dark patches. You can add shading throughout your panda drawing to give it more dimension and volume. Pick the direction of the light source when shading so that the shadows are consistent with it. Vary the pressure on your pencil to get different degrees of tonal value. Add a cast shadow underneath. This helps ground the panda so it doesn't appear to be floating. Thanks for watching!
