Draw Komodo Dragon

Please PAUSE the "How to Draw a Komodo Dragon" video after each step to draw at your own pace.

For the first few steps, don't press down too hard with your pencil. Use light, smooth strokes to begin.

Draw Komodo Dragon 1

Step 1: Draw two circles as guides for the komodo dragon's body. The circles don't have to be perfect. They're just guides. Komodo dragons have long bodies, so don't place the circles too close together or you'll end up with a short dragon. The gap between the two circles should be about the same width as the first circle. Place the second circle a bit lower too.

Step 2: Draw two curved lines that connect the two circles to finish up the guide for the komodo dragon's body.

Step 3: Draw another circle on the upper left side as a guide for the komodo dragon's head. This circle should be about one-third the size of the first one. The higher up you place the circle, the longer the komodo dragon's neck will be.

Step 5: Draw a few more lines as guides for the komodo dragon's neck and tail. A couple of lines that connect the head to the body make up the neck. Draw a long line on the right side of the body for the tail.
